These days I'm working on a 4 x 13 foot commissioned painting for a local Guelph company called Red Car Service (which also happens to be my place of employment...). It's been a good learning experience thus far, but hasn't allowed much time for other art making. I will be sure to post photo's of this monstrosity as soon as it's finished.

This saturday July 14th I will be participating in the annual 'Art On the Street' which takes place on Wyndham St. in downtown Guelph. There are around 100 artists taking part and I will be selling both prints and paintings at booth #29. Hopefully the weather holds up and my tent doesn't blow away.

I will be participating in an all-girls group show taking place at My Hero Gallery on St. Laurent Blvd. in Montreal this weekend and hopefully my painting will arrive there in time from the vernissage on saturday. I will not be attending the event however, since i'm living in Guelph now, but feel free to check it out if you get a chance.
In other news, I have been unable to update my website for the past month because my computer called it quits and I am in the process of saving up for a new one. I am also preparing for an outdoor art fair that will be taking place in Guelph on July 14th where I will be selling various prints and paintings.

Gregory and I have recently moved to a town in southern ontario called Guelph. It's population barely exceeds 125,000 and its downtown is made up of no more than 3 blocks. That's right. I've traded my exciting big city life in for a much simpler existence and although weary of my decision at times, I'm pretty confident that it was the right thing for me to do. The decision to move came about rather suddenly and even though I was sad to let my studio in Montreal go, I've been lucky enough to find a suitable replacement located just across the river from my apartment. I will be sharing the space with a few other artists, which will prevent me from totally being cut–off from the outside world. While I'm waiting to move into the new studio and find a job, I will keep myself busy by working on some small gouache paintings at home.
All the hustle and bustle of moving kept me from applying to the Toronto Outdoor this year, but I'll probably apply for 2008. In other news, I've slowly been working on a website for Gregory's new music project. I've just added some of his newer recordings which are definitely worth a listen. Here's the link if you're interested: www.gillianwilson.ca/gregorypepper
I guess that's about it for now.
Until next time.
